Information on protective equipment

In Finland, the quality of healthcare products must comply with Act 629/2010 on healthcare equipment and supplies. In addition, the accessories and their safe usage are defined by various EN standards. These standards guarantee that the product has been proven to be safe for its user. In our procurement processes, we take into account all the requirements assigned to the products and inspect the products, not only in the country of manufacture, but also in Finland by VTT. The contract factories have been selected on the basis of precise criteria and we require all our manufacturers to be committed to an ethical practice acceptable in Europe.

Supervised standards

A local law firm in China will review contact restrictions and ensures that the products meet the standards to protect rights and interests and to avoid potential disputes.

Protective masks

The Type II and Type IIR protective masks in our selection have been scientifically tested and have received a quality certificate as a result of extensive research. Both types of protective masks differ from Type I protective masks due to their higher effectiveness against bacteria and are intended for use by healthcare professionals. In addition, Type IIR protective masks are splash-proof and protect the wearer from blood and other body fluids. Therefore, they are suitable for use in operating theaters, for example.

Sterilization

Many mask manufacturers report that their masks are only made in sterilization workshops. However, masks made in sterilization workshops are not 100% sterilized, as actual sterilization requires the action of ethylene oxide for 14 days to achieve complete sterility.

Quality of nonwovens

Because the price of meltblown nonwovens has risen several times during the prevailing epidemic, many manufacturers of protective masks strive to maximize their returns. This leads to a decrease in the BFE level. In Type In II and Type IIR protective masks, the BFE level is always over 98%.

The price of Type II and Type IIR masks varies widely across the world. This makes it difficult to import products and their availability can vary greatly.

Protective coveralls

Our product selection includes Type 5 and Type 6 coveralls, which have received quality certifications as a result of extensive research. These coveralls are used by healthcare professionals across the world during a pandemic. Protective coveralls provide good protection against infections that spread via airways and as droplets, which is why they are among the essential protective equipment during the Covid-19 epidemic.

Protection

Type 5 and Type 6 protective coveralls protect the user partly, leaving arms, feet and face unprotected. Coveralls are recommended to be utilized with other protective equipment, such as gloves, respirators or plastic visor. Protective overalls protect the user’s body from light chemicals and droplet infections.

Safe use

To ensure proper use of the coverall, please read the instructions that come with the coverall carefully. When using the coverall, special attention must be paid to the safe removal of the coverall, so that any chemicals or splashes do not end up on the wearer during the removal phase of the coverall.
